Volunteer Opportunities

Do you live within travelling distance of Coggeshall and have time to spare?  Are you interested in the conservation of an ancient building and its presentation to the public?  Would you like to make new friends with a common set of interests?  Then why not consider becoming a National Trust volunteer?

There are many ways in which you can help, including:

·        Visitor reception and stewarding,

·        Ground and garden maintenance,

·        Researching the history of the barn,

·        Interpretation and displays

·        Conserving a collection of craft woodworking tools.

We need someone to undertake clerical work in connection with the Saunders Tools Collection  The task is to produce hand-written labels from computer records for use in the eventual display of the collection.  The skills needed are neat handwriting and accuracy in transcribing the information.  Some familiarity with computers would be an advantage.  The work will take place in the Tools Collection Administrator's office/workshop suite at Tolleshunt D'Arcy, near Maldon.  The working times will be by arrangement with him.

If you’d like to become involved, please contact Brian Smith (Webmaster) by e-mail or by telephone on 07711 970002.  Those who enjoy physical (mainly outdoor) activity should also contact the
